Self beyond the personality?
It’s what it says on our header image… What does it mean?
There is a mystery to our existence; one not explained by science, though science is doing a wonderful job exploring the laws of the visible world, and is drawing closer and closer to the the mystical view of life.
Consciousness came before matter… it is a higher ‘state’ than matter and is our home.
We have forgotten who we are. We were meant to – this is not a mistake on our part. Our destiny is to live the discovery of who we are so that we can have the intense joy of re-discovery, a joy that conveys on us a maturity of being and changes the physical universe.
And that journey has to be taken from within matter.
This is our purpose on the Earth and this is why our link to the great life of Nature is so vital to our existence and wellbeing.
Our mystical coming-of-age glorifies the realm of nature, which carefully formed and evolved our bodies, making them fit vehicles for the incoming awareness, which is not from the world of matter.
Who we are is hidden from us by the reactions of our everyday ‘self’, the personality.
As the Sufi mystic, Rumi said:
“You have only to remove the barriers to love that you have built for yourself…”
There are many ways to make this journey back to inner love and joy. We can take the path of knowledge, taking years to filter what is important to know and what is of less significance.
We can take the path of devotion, and fix our total attention on love for our inner being, possibly via outward symbols of ourself.
Or we can find out why this inner shining – our birthright – is not able to penetrate our daily lives…
This third path is what the Silent Eye delivers, with its three-year correspondence course, mentored, personally, via your own supervisor – someone who has taken that journey, themselves.
The Silent Eye Course is a three-year mentored journey. Each lesson is designed for one month’s work and and contemplation. Each lesson contains a series of exercises to deepen the Companion’s understanding alongside the theory.
The monthly cost of each lesson is currently (July 2023) £15.00. This is the only charge made by the school – an approach that is deeply rooted in real mystery schools, and one that allows access by all to this most important of life’s learning opportunities.
There is a formal application process designed to let us get to know you a little. Upon successful application, you will be assigned a supervisor – someone who has completed the course and expressed a desire to help others on the path.
Absolutely fascinating! I was one of the founder members of The Fellowship of Isis, and since its demise following the passing of Olivia Robertson I’ve been seeking something like your organisation to continue my esoteric interests. I came to your site via Sue’s pic of her standing by one of the Duddu Stones as I’ve recently moved to this area and am searching out ancient sites, and somehow I was ‘drawn’ to her image – and it all ‘fell into place’from there!

Thanks for your prompt response – what an amazing piece of synchronicity! (I don’t believe in ‘coincidence’) as I’m virtually ‘on the doorstep’ at the moment, based in Wooler! I’m in the process of moving to Chirnside , and unfortunately the move-in is scheduled for the 14/15 September or I might well have booked into the workshop!I shall certainly be visiting the Duddo stones tho’ when the ‘dust has settled’ and your advice in your piece about the distance from the car park to the site was extremely useful – I shall go prepared!
I’m certainly interested in the correspondence course – I’m familiar with the Eanagram having some books about it, and obviously the Eye of Horus was like a magnet to me!
No, I don’t do ‘coincidences’ either, William. 🙂 What a shame you can’t join us that weekend…an ideal time to meet us and get an idea of who we are. You’d be welcome to join us for a coffee if you find yourself free at any point… though I know what moving entails!
