As a Captain in a blackened storm
Scans a ravaged horizon
To find rotating hope:
Not only where but who
The ship, by edge of darkness
Locates the world beyond the sea
So we, with storm and prayer
Scanning signs of inner life
Find voyage in a pulsing light
A presence there, then gone
Returning if we will but stare,
And hoping, count the circles

Steve, well done. Great metaphor. Keith
Thank you, Keith. It came in a flash… 😎
Beautiful poem, Steve, and a wonderful metaphor.
Thank you, Diana. Unusual, but the image came ‘fully formed’. ❤️
This feels so powerful, Steve. I’m letting it sink in (without sinking the boat! 😉 ). Thank you.
Chuckles! Thank you, Caroline.
